- Click Start, on the Apple Menu and scroll down to System Preferences.

- click the Network icon.
- Click the arrow box on the Show drop down list and choose INternal Modem.
- Click on the TCP/IP tab.

- Click the arrow box on the Configure drop-down menu and choose Using PPP.
- In the Domain Name Servers box, type the following DNS server addresses:
198.51.92.1
198.51.92.2
- In the Search Domains box, type nicholls.edu.
- Click on the PPP tab.

- Dial Up Number for Local Access.
From Off-Campus: 448-4300
From On-Campus : 4300
- In the Account Name field, type in your Nicholls username.
- In the Password field, type your password.
- Check the box next to Save password.
- Then Click on the PPP Options button.

- Uncheck the box next to Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
- Uncheck the box next to Prompt to stay connected.
- Uncheck the box next to Disconnect if idle.
- Uncheck the box next to Disconnect when user logs out.
- Click the OK button.

- Uncheck all the boxes (i.e. FTP Proxy, Secure Web Proxy, Streaming Proxy, Gopher Proxy, & Socks Firewall).
- Click on the Modem tab.

- Click the arrow box on the Modem drop-down list and choose Apple Internal 56K Modem (v.90).
- If you have a different modem, please select your modem from the drop down list.
- Click the Tone radio button in the Dialing area.
- Check the box next to Show modem status in menu bar.
- Click on the Apply Now button.
- Close the Network window.
