- Same basic formatting commands like Word
- Higher levels of table control (a necessity)
- Allows for placement of image files in a specified
directory
- Is used in conjunction with Winzip to create an archive to
allow images to be viewed
- HTML files require less space than word files and therefore
download faster
- Does NOT require the end user to have Word

Why not Word?
- The end user must have word to view the content
- Word files are large and make for longer download times
- There is no end control of image linking in Word
Why Frontpage (HTML)
- The end user has a web browser already to access Blackboard
- Frontpage will render the page more accurately like it will
be displayed in Blackboard
- You have control of image placement and linking
- You have better control of tables (a must for HTML)
- HTML files are small and therefore download faster
- You can create more sophisticated HTML layouts in Frontpage
Why Winzip
- To ensure proper linkage to image files, the archive must
be zipped
- If you plan to user HTML render Powerpoint shows, you must
create a zip archive
If you still want to use Word with Images
- You will need to save as an HTML file
- Word will save the images in a directory with the same name
and _files appended
- You will need to create a zip archive as above
- Select your root HTML file and add to archive
- Select the directory holding the images
- Select all files
- Ensure the save full path info is checked
- Import into Blackboard as above
