Getting a Powerpoint®
Presentation Into Courseinfo®
Description:
There are two main ways to get a powerpoint presentation into CourseInfo.
Solution:
The first involves simply uploading the actual powerpoint file by uploading it
in the “Add” screen. You will not want to choose any special actions. After
uploading the file, you should see your document with a link. Clicking on the
link should spawn Powerpoint (the local copy on your machine). You MUST
have a copy of Powerpoint of Powerpoint Viewer in order to view your powerpoint
file. Powerpoint also provides a “Save-as-HTML” feature. You can (from within
Powerpoint), select “Save-as-HTML”. You presentation will be converted into a
series of .html and .gif files, within a directory on your computer. In order to
get all these files into CourseInfo, you will want to Zip all of the
documents using programs such as WinZip or MacZip. From within
CourseInfo, when you are adding a document, simply upload the .zip file, and
choose “Unpack” as the special action. You should then be prompted to choose a
starting location for your files. You will want to select the file
“index.html”. When this is completed, you should see a document in CourseInfo
with a hyperlink that links to your Powerpoint presentation!

the users computer
